Living God’s Best: Understanding the difference between how God and the devil works

By Joseph Hayes

It is a season of much deception.

Understanding the difference between the truth and all of the lies being presented to us will never be more imperative.

Nearly everywhere you look, there is something deceptive taking place. Meanwhile it also appears as if the truth is being purposely suppressed as it takes a backseat to all of the lies.

During such a moment, as so many people call for the freedom to sin against God and oppose His Word, there is actually a way to distinguish the difference for yourself between God’s truth and all of the devil’s lies.

God and the devil have two entirely different strategies that have continually been at work.

God is a liberator, who is always attempting to bring someone freedom. The devil meanwhile is always looking to deceive in order for someone to be bound and become captive to a sin, habit or evil that actually opposes God and separates them further from His righteous Will.

We have seen this in our own society.

If you do not agree with the demonic agendas and strongholds being pushed by the devil, you are told you no longer deserve to have a voice. People say you no longer deserve free will or the ability to choose for yourself. You either do as they say or face shame and ridicule.

We see this everywhere; including even on social media platforms that are attempting to shut down the voice of anyone who does not agree with the lies being told.

We see this throughout our society in groups and organizations in which many say they are attempting to liberate, all while forcing someone to do as they say.

That is surprising, considering the current generation uses slogans such as “My body, My choice” all while attempting to force others to surrender their right to free will.

If you won’t agree with the satanic agendas being propagated, then here comes the ridicule, the shame and the outright push to control you and take away the rights God has bestowed upon you.

If you preach truth, the devil has shown that he will do anything he can to shut you up.

God meanwhile, will never take away your right to free will or to choose for yourself what you will do; even if you are wrong in your decisions and opposing Him and His perfect Will.

If you want to blaspheme God, He will allow you to. If you want to disregard His commands, He will still wake you up each and every day and give you free will.

God is the ultimate source of truth and freedom. God has continued to uphold us all, even when we were wrong; even while we have been stuck in sin.

God has had others pray for you to be awakened to the truth. That’s how good God is. He is the ultimate source of Love, even while we are struggling or wrong.

God’s goodness and mercy has made it easy to distinguish Him and the devil.

The Bible mentions a time approaching, where Christians will be hated by all nations on account of Jesus Christ.

The Bible alludes to a time where people who mistreat, abuse or even kill followers of Jesus Christ will actually believe they are doing something in service unto God.

Jesus actually warned of this Himself in the Gospel of John, when He said:

“They will put you out of (expel you from) the synagogues; but an hour is coming when whoever kills you will think and claim that he has offered service to God. And they will do this because they have not known the Father or Me.”‭‭John‬ ‭16:2-3‬ ‭AMPC

How many people speak of liberty today and freedom as if they are representing God and His righteous way. Yet meanwhile they are actually bound to sin themselves and attempting to force others to sin and oppose God?

In other places within the Bible, God has warned of a season where real Believers in Him and those who are actually fake and putting up a front would actually appear to be the same.

The Bible outlines this in the parable of the wheat and tares.

So how exactly are we to distinguish the difference for ourselves from those being used by God and those being deceived and persuaded by the devil?

Always remember God’s character as One who believes in liberty and free will. Despite how you might currently feel about God, He still will never force Himself upon you. God will always tell you the truth in Love and even send other people to you to share the truth so that you may be liberated within Him.

But even if you choose to reject God and the truth of His Word, He will never attempt to force His Will or Way upon you.

God has granted you free will. He will still give you breathe and life as you reject Him and blaspheme His name. He loves you enough to allow you to speak against Him.

If you wanted to reject the message of the Salvation offered through the finished work of Jesus Christ, He will still allow you to choose that course, knowing you will be eternally separated from Him and have to take upon yourself the cost of your own sins. God has never forced Himself upon a person.

Meanwhile, the devil does not believe in free will at all. He believes in using deception and pressure to keep someone bound.

We see this more every single day. The devil does not believe you should have any freedom or choice to choose for yourself. Instead, he would rather deceive a person through a lie so that they can’t even recognize the truth.

Then he will apply pressure to attempt to keep them bound to the deception they have fallen for.

The devil knows that pressure has often caused someone to fall for a deception and not accurately think through their decisions.

Satan attempts to use fear to make you bound to something and also shame to make sure you continue in it.

Consider today’s world. If you do not want to follow the demonic agendas taking place throughout our country or the world, people will attempt to outcast or shame you.

If you don’t agree with the sin taking place around you and choose to take a stand for the Truth of God’s Word, you are threatened and will face ridicule.

People have now even said if you won’t agree to live in fear (which goes against God’s Word), you shouldn’t be allowed to live a normal life like God intends for you.

It’s definitely an interesting time to be alive.

We have entered a season where everyone who has fallen into deception, truly believes they represent the truth and are justified to force their will upon you — just like the deceiver they actually serve.

These people have become so deceived that they don’t even perceive the truth that can only come from God. They are spiritually blind, even to their own sinful condition.

Take for instance if I were a woman that wanted to murder the baby God had just sent me through the act of abortion. The world attempts to commend such people for opposing God and doing what they felt was best for themselves at the moment.

But if the woman said the exact same thing about murdering a puppy through an act of abortion because they didn’t want to take on the responsibility of their dog having more babies, many in the world would call for them to be jailed or even killed because of the decision.

So in 2021, the life of an animal is even perceived as more valuable than the life of a person made in the image and likeness of the Almighty God.

The Bible says satan only comes to steal, kill and destroy. God meanwhile has come so that you may have Life, and have it more abundantly.

God’s Love has made it very easy to distinguish and discern the difference between His Will and His character and that of the fallen world, which is being directly manipulated by the foolish and corrupted devil.

There is no spirit that has ever been created or lived a single day that has been more stupid than the devil and his fellow fallen angels.

You must be stupid to be in the presence of the Most High God and still choose to attempt to betray Him and oppose Him.

The devil found that out first hand when he was cast out of Heaven like lightning. But before God dismissed him and those that had sided with him, God allowed them to choose for themselves what they would do.

Now the devil is attempting to get others to follow with him, all to hurt people and the Great God that created them.

God Loves you enough to equip you with the truth and allow you to decide for yourself what you will do. So what will be your choice?

Will you seek God in His Word with your whole heart so that you can understand and distinguish His truth from a lie? Or will you surrender to the deceptions being pushed around you because of the pressure the devil has attempted to instill upon the world.

I encourage you today to take account of the Love God has for you. Dismiss the evil this fallen world has tried to force upon you from the devil and choose for yourself to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, by only saying and doing the things God is leading you to do.

Today is the perfect time to acknowledge your need for God and His abundant Grace. You can choose to live forever through your faith in Jesus Christ and the understanding of what His sacrifice has provided you.

Faith in Jesus Christ will allow you to turn away from your past and any sin you have committed or struggled through.

This very moment could be the difference in your life if you will humble yourself and choose to honor God and walk in the abundant Grace of Jesus Christ.

Or you can choose to side with the devil and the fallen world, which will constantly and always apply pressure on you to take steps to turn away from God.

The choice today, is yours. But I pray that you will take a moment today, to acknowledge your need for the Almighty God and choose to accept His offer of Salvation through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

To receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, or if you want to rededicate your life to Jesus, believe and say out loud: “Heavenly Father, I come to you in Jesus’ name. Please forgive me for my sins. I believe your Son Jesus was sent to the earth to die for me on the cross and He rose from the dead. I receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Jesus, take my life and use it for your glory. I choose to extend forgiveness to anyone who has sinned against me.”

Welcome to God’s family! Your spirit is born again! Choose to spend time learning more about Jesus in the Bible. You can study Him in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Seek God on what local church you should attend to learn more about Him and choose to put your faith on display by being baptized. As you continue learning about God, be His ambassador and continue sharing what you have learned with everyone. Where you go, the Lord goes. So choose to represent Him today.

Thank you Joseph for this article. I’ve been replying to they who want Christians to be silenced this way Devil says Shut up! GOD SAYS SPEAK UP! I chose the latter. And I look to God to help me always to Speak The Truth In Love. I can be blunt, curt, sarcastic. I endeavor to be more Christ like. We are His ambassadors, His peacemakers, His reconcilers, His ministers. He called us to be compelling, a light in the darkness, a witness. Look how the apostle Paul compelled those he strove with. Lord help me to contend with Love as my motive!
