Living God’s Best: Now is the perfect time for the Church to focus on the youth – with Jana Simpson

By Joseph Hayes

They are the future.

They will determine the course of the nation and the world in which we live.

Yet on a daily basis, the youth in our nation and world often goes overlooked. That is, even as the world around us presents greater challenges for them to take on and overcome.

The year 2020 will be remembered for many things. It will surely be a year where we take a glance back on the world for the many historical events that took place.

But also consider the seeds being sown among young adults, teenagers and children.

Consider how prevalent spirits of fear have become within our society at the same time many Christians have forsaken their assignments to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

When a child or teenager goes onto social media today, what information are they overloaded with? Will they find things of God or information straight from the devil brought to them?

It has become abundantly clear that everything is now on the line. We are witnessing a fight for souls, for nations, for the world.

It’s a war that’s being waged spiritually while the combatants are often trying to fight physically; all the while eternal life is on the line.

The youth that will take over and emulate what we do and follow in our footsteps have often been failed by our example.

Now they are left to fight the devil from our flawed perspectives and what we have taught them often lacks the principles necessary to win the war ahead of them.

I truly pray we all awake before it’s too late to understand what is taking place around us. I pray we wake up before it’s too late to see what was at stake the entire time.

And if you haven’t received Jesus Christ yet or want to rededicate your life to Him as your Lord and Savior, why not let today be the day your life forever changed?

Believe and say out loud: Heavenly Father, I come to you in Jesus’ name. Please forgive me of my sins. I believe your Son Jesus was sent to earth to die for me on the cross and that he rose from the dead. I receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Jesus take my life and use it for your glory. I choose to extend forgiveness to anyone who has sinned against me. Welcome to God’s family! Your spirit is born again!

Choose to spend time learning more about Jesus in the Bible. You can study Him in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Seek God on what local church you should attend to learn more about Him and choose to put your faith on display by being baptized. As you continue learning about God, be His ambassador and continue sharing what you have learned with everyone. Where you go, the Lord goes. So choose to represent Him today.
