I have always loved food.  Lucky for me, I have been able to turn this love of food into a career of food and nutrition, and have spent the last 30 years sharing this passion with clients, friends, co-workers, and online visitors here at Blue Water Healthy

As a child, I watched my mom and Aunt run a very successful restaurant inside of a commercial building in downtown Detroit which fed the folks that worked there.  I was intrigued from the start, watching them prepare grill items, fabulous soups, and daily “blue plate” specials.

I have tons of experience in the food industry—starting with working as a salad girl position in high school, a waitress in college, and later food sales for close to 20 years.  I serviced many of the top Italian eateries in the tri-county area surrounding Detroit and learned a LOT about preparing delicious food.  This experience was much more than a culinary encounter—it was a passion awakened.  It was then I consulted on food trends and helped clients create exciting new menu items—so exciting!

Additionally, through the years, I have worked in various upscale restaurants in both the front and back of the house operations.  I have put together cookbooks for volunteer organizations to raise funds for their causes to benefit the community and those less fortunate.

These days, I find much enjoyment as a Brand Ambassador/Food Demonstrator proudly representing the Boar’s Head line of premium delicatessen meats, cheeses, and gourmet condiments and prepackaged specialties.  Although the Covid-19 pandemic has temporarily suspended this type of in-store food sampling—I am confident that you will see me and my beautiful products available later this fall.  

Lots of plans in the future for this girl, including critiques of local restaurants! Plans are also in the works for the introduction of Blue Water Bars, Restaurants, and Eateries, a traveling food segment that will take viewers into the kitchens of local restaurants as they prepare one of their specialties and tell us their stories.

Although the pandemic has thwarted these plans temporarily, look forward to these projects in the not so distant future.  In the meantime, watch for my featured weekly recipes!

Homemade Pizza

Fresh dough, pizza sauce made from my garden tomatoes, whole milk mozzarella, Rinaldi Italian sausage, pepperoni, baby Porto bellas, sweet onion, bell peppers, a little more sauce—topped with fresh mozzarella and grated Parmesan. When served, I will add some marinated tomatoes on top. Delicioso!
