Kathryn’s Kitchen: Quiche

For some people, cooking refers to throwing a frozen pizza in the oven. For Kathryn Dietlin, it is a passion that she loves to share with her children.

In Kathryn’s Kitchen, our host Kathryn will show us how to cook delicious, affordable meals with her children, Landon and Avery.

In this episode, Kathryn creates the widely-popular dish, quiche!

Easy Quiche

-Kathryn Dietlin

1 refrigerated pie crust (not deep dish)
6 large eggs
¾ cups milk or cream
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup chopped ham
1 ½ cups shredded cheese (divided)
3 tablespoons green onion

*you can always substitute ham or green onion for other vegetables or meat.

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.

3. Sprinkle ham, 1 c. of cheese, and green onions in the pie crust.  Pour egg mixture over top.  Sprinkle remaining ½ c. cheese on top of egg mixture.

4.Bake 35-40 minutes until center is completely set.  Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
