Kathryn’s Kitchen: “Big Burger” Salad

For some people, cooking refers to throwing a frozen pizza in the oven. For Kathryn Dietlin, it is a passion that she loves to share with her children.

In Kathryn’s Kitchen, our host Kathryn will show us how to cook delicious, affordable meals with her children, Landon and Avery.

In this episode, Kathryn puts together a Big Burger Salad. Some say this thing tastes like a Big Mac.

The Recipe is Below

Dressing Ingredients:
½ cup mayonnaise
1 ½ tbs yellow mustard
1 tbs dill pickle relish or diced pickles
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion salt
½ tsp paprika

Salad Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
5 cups of Romaine lettuce or iceberg lettuce
½ shredded cheddar cheese
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup dill pickle chips


1. Make the dressing, mix all dressing ingredients in a small bowl, set aside.
2. Brown the ground beef. Drain grease from the beef.
3. Assemble the salad. Shred lettuce into a large bowl, sprinkle shredded cheese, chopped onion and dill pickle chips.
4. Drizzle the salad with the dressing.
5. Serve
