Hope Blooms 2023

By The Hunter Hospitality House

Hunter Hospitality House will be holding Hope Blooms, their annual fundraising dinner, on Thursday, April 27 at the beautiful Blue Water Convention Center. The banquet is from 5:30-7:30 pm, with an optional early entry time of 4:30 pm.  Those attending will enjoy a delicious dinner, the uplifting music of Jimmy DeHeno and Still Running, a generous $1000 cash drawing, incredible raffle items, an impressive silent auction, scrumptious cupcakes, and more.

Proceeds from this event will allow Hunter Hospitality House to continue to provide free lodging and abundant amenities in two beautiful bed-and-breakfast-style homes and one VRBO style family house in Port Huron, located directly across from both hospitals.  Qualified guests include families of hospitalized patients, those undergoing daily outpatient treatment, and people needing a place to stay the night before a surgery.  Loved ones of patients in other medical facilities in the area, such as the Blue Water Hospice Home and Marwood Nursing and Rehabilitation, are also welcome at Hunter Hospitality House when vacancies allow.

The organization is named in memory of Hunter Eldon Willard, a premature baby born in 1991.  Founders Jeff and Tracy Willard run the homes with the help of their son, Cullen Willard, administrative assistant Toni Forstner, and dozens of volunteers.  Since opening in 2011, there have been more than 2,350 registrations and they have provided more than 12,030 free days of lodging. When their circumstances look bleak, hope blooms for guests of Hunter Hospitality House.
