On September 21st, 2019, I am going over the edge for Easter Seals of MI. Over the Edge West Michigan is an awe-inspiring event to raise funds for the nonprofit organization, Easter Seals of MI. Every person who raises a minimum of $1500 for the cause will secure the opportunity to rappel over the glass towers of Bridgewater Place in downtown Grand Rapids.
Easter Seals of MI is an organization near and dear to my heart. I had the pleasure of working for this agency for seven years prior to moving to the Port Huron area. I will never forget the vast experiences I had there as a mental health professional, and the dynamic, courageous and resilient people that we served.
Easter Seals is comprised of various programs that service adults, children, and families with mental and physical disabilities. It is their mission to change the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in people’s everyday lives. Proceeds from the Over the Edge event will go directly to these programs so Easter Seals can continue to provide quality services for those in need.
I am ready to face my fears and take on this challenge. But, I can’t do it alone. I need your help in raising the funds to fulfill my fundraising goal of $1500. I have devised four ways in which you may offer your support to the cause.
• You may donate directly to my personal fundraising page at https://www.overtheedgewestmi.com/shelly-papinaw
• You may purchase candles and/or other items from the online Yankee Candle magazine at https://www.yankeecandlefundraising.com. 40% of all online purchases go to Easter Seals. You must enter the group number- 999992492 upon checkout.
• You may attend the Easter Seals Fundraising Event at Mannina’s Winehouse in St. Clair, MI on September 7th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. During this time, 20% of all purchases of appetizers, beverages, desserts, and/or bottles of wine go to Easter Seals.
• You may attend my Painting With A Purpose event on September 12th from 7:00-9: 00 pm at Painting with a Twist in Fort Gratiot. 50% of the funds raised from the class will go to Easter Seals. You may register at www.paintingwithatwist.com
Thank you to everyone who contributes to this amazing organization and propels me over the edge in this once of a lifetime opportunity. See you at the bottom.
