In the midst of this crazy year, it seems like most of June, July, and August were a blur. I am an essential worker, so I have worked through the whole pandemic. It was not until after my 57th birthday in November that things started looking differently. My husband was sent home from work and asked to get a covid test as he was having symptoms. We had him tested, and it came back positive. So, the quarantine begins.
I want to tell you that I never thought much about the virus. I went to work everyday and complained about the masks (I still do). I am not trying to push one way or another; it is my opinion. But what I did get out of this, is that no matter how you feel about the mask or the way the pandemic is being handled, you don’t have to fear the virus, but you do have to respect the virus.
As a Christian, I fear the Lord; all other things are not to be feared. Job 28:28 says, “And to man, He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord- that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.” What it means to me to have a fear of the Lord is to respect God and be in awe of Him and His amazing splendor. So, I have learned to respect this virus and know that it is real. I have a different attitude about the whole situation, that does not mean I agree with everything that is being said about the virus. It means that I am doing more research into the whole situation. I am relying on my Lord and Savior to bring us through.

We are on our last days of quarantine, and I have seen my husband so sick that he could not get out of bed. I realize that I am not in control of anything on this earth, and I must fully rely on God. I believe that things happen for a reason whether they are good things or bad things. I know now that you must respect these situations but not fear them. The outcome is not yours to write.
WHAT DO YOU FEAR?
What do you fear?
Is that fear already near?
Do you fear the earthly things?
Do you fear what Satan brings?
Fear is just a single word
Fear is just a whisper heard
God is to be feared for he controls your eternal life
Give it up to Him – all that daily strife.
Don’t let people control your thoughts and fears
God is the only one who can make those clear.
