Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse / Museum – Port Hope

May 20

Blue Water Healthy Living is not liable for any event updates or cancelations please refer to original posting's for any updates.

The Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse is one of the ten oldest lighthouses in Michigan. The tower and keeper’s house contain artifacts from its long and storied history and are open to the public. Due to the dangerous shoals surrounding Pointe aux Barques, the first Great Lakes Life-Saving Station was built here in 1876. It was as closed in 1937 but is currently being restored to reflect the more than 200 rescues attributed to this station and its honorable crews. The Museum and Gift Shop open for the season on May 23rd, with Tower Climbs beginning on May 24th. See website for hours and tower climb information.
