Gratiot: A Man, Fort, Road and Lighthouse – Burtchville Twp.
May 1 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Before we knew Fort Gratiot as Michigan’s oldest lighthouse, it was a military stockade fort guarding the mouth of the St. Clair River. Listen to stories about all things Gratiot as only historian Andrew Kercher can tell them. The Fort’s namesake, Charles Gratiot, took part in the attack of the Battle of Mackinac Island and was the supervising engineer of the construction of Fort Gratiot. An interesting evening indeed.
