Release from State Representative Shane Hernandez
Friends,
All of us who enjoy the abundant recreation opportunities that our state has to offer should thank Michigan hunters for the crucial role they play in supporting Michigan’s wildlife habitat.
Hunters boost tourism and strengthen our state economy, Michigan game seasons attract roughly 750,000 hunters annually, resulting in an estimated $13 billion more per year for Michigan’s economy.
License fees are used to protect public lands for all of us. Anyone who uses our state public lands or public waterways should take time to thank hunters for providing the bulk of
funding for our states conservation efforts.
It is important that we pass along our hunting traditions to future generations. I would encourage every hunter to make sure they are introducing children to the numerous benefits hunting affords both the individual and our society as a whole.
I hope you find this guide helpful. I look forward to hearing about the adventures this season brings.
Happy hunting.
