The Area Agency on Aging I-B (AAA I-B) and the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter are hosting free training workshops for families caring for someone with a dementia related illness, such as Alzheimer’s disease. The Creating Confident Caregivers® (CCC) program has been proven to reduce caregiver stress by empowering caregivers with useful tools and information. Caregivers are encouraged to attend all six of the two-hour classes in order to complete the training. All materials, flyers, and training books are provided by the AAA I-B, and there is no cost for the caregiver to attend this training. The class is limited to 12 participants. Up to three members from one family can attend a training together. Onsite respite care, for the loved one with dementia, will be available to participants free of charge, to help ensure the caregiver is able to attend the training. The CCC program is designed to increase the knowledge, skills, and outlook of a spouse, adult child, relative or significant other caring for someone with memory loss or dementia.
Where: Council on Aging Inc. 600 Grand River Ave. Port Huron MI 48060
When: Fridays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. April 7th through May 12th.
