A Veterans Day to Remember with help from Charley Scandalito

How will you honor those who’ve served our country this Veterans Day? With the unrelenting pace of today’s society, we need a reminder to pause and remember the many sacrifices made by those who gave their lives for this country.

GBS Media is proud to present a video chronicling the experiences of local veteran, Charley Scandalito. Originally from Port Huron, Michigan, Charley joined the National Guard in 1954 and served over 30 years in active duty. Since his return from the Vietnam War, Charley continued to devote himself to the country he loved. Never seeking attention from the spotlight, or even so much as a thank you for his service, he continued to do what he knew best: serve – currently he acts a member of the Michigan Volunteer Defense Force under the Adjutant General of Michigan. A man truly deserving of respect and admiration.

Charley, along with so many others, have sacrificed greatly for the freedoms we often take for granted. Take time to remember all those that have served this Veterans Day. Let’s make this a truly special day; honoring those whose lives were lost protecting our precious country. We never want to forget these men and women nor those still fighting to keep the American Dream alive.
