We know that God is faithful. He is not one to say something and go back on his word. Jesus perfectly displayed obedience to the point of the cross. When our life is laid out before God, will we look like him? Will he find the same faithfulness?
“A person should think of us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of the mysteries of God. In this regard, it is required that managers be found faithful.” 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 CSB
Those of us who have made Jesus the Lord of their life are not only sons and daughters of God but are servants of Christ and known as managers or stewards of the mysteries of God. To be a servant is to be obedient to your commanding officer: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit that lives inside of you as a Child of God. To be a steward is to be entrusted as an employee for the kingdom of God or known as a preacher of the gospel.

It has become more and more evident in 2020 that we live in a very broken world that is in desperate need of saving and true love. This world needs Jesus, just like we as individuals do every single day of our lives. What is stopping us from sharing what God has done in our life? Is it people-pleasing? Is it the misunderstanding that we are the church and it is not something we go to? I believe there are many facets to this issue. However, it does not matter if you are a day old Christian or have been walking with the Lord for 20 years, God has entrusted you with the Good News and desires you to deliver it to this broken world.
Do not take your day job lightly. Understand as a Child of God, you are an ambassador for heaven and entrusted with gifts given by the Holy Spirit that this world needs. While the world declares COVID-19, Children of God declare by his wounds you are healed. While the world screams hate and division over politics, racism, and whatever else is shared on media today…Children of God of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities, join under one name – Jesus Christ.
The Church was never meant to fit in and walk in the ways of the world. We are called to stand out. After all, the Bible does call us peculiar people. As you walk into your work-place this week, do not let the world’s ways crowd your mind and heart. Be the one that refuses to walk in hate and conquer evil with good. Be a good steward of the gifts and talents God has placed inside of you for such a time as this. Remain faithful to the prompts of the Holy Spirit. There are seeds that the Holy Spirit is leading you to plant and assignments he has laid out before you. I challenge you to say yes to God and ask him, how can you bring heaven to earth this week?
More Scripture To Reflect On:
- Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.” He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. -2 Corinthians 5:20-21 CSB
- Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:18-20 CSB
- They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; for they did not love their lives to the point of death. -Revelation 12:11 CSB
