Hello friends and supporters
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the governor’s order to stay home as well as the rising amount of Michigan residents infected, we have reevaluated our operating procedures. Starting immediately, Blue Water Area Humane Society will be open for emergency appointments only, we will be closed to the general public until further notice.
We will continue to answer the phones like normal and ask if you have donations to please leave them at the front door, and call to let us know when you drop them off. We ask that when you arrive for your appointment, you please call from the parking lot and we will unlock the doors and let you in. Do not come in groups of more than 2. We beg you not to come to our facility if you are sick, have been around anyone who is sick, or have been exposed to any illness in any way.
Please understand we have a number of animals in our facility and our staff needs to remain healthy to be able to take care of them. Thank you for understanding.Blue Water Area Humane Society
We are asking for dog and cat food as we anticipate people in the community may need help feeding their pets due to work loss. We are not, however, currently taking in items such as towels, blankets, sheets or newspapers.
Although we are not currently doing adoptions, potential pet parents can call or email requesting adoption applications and we will email those out. This way we can get them processed and ready to go when we get the all-clear to start adoptions again.
