Basketball Roundup: Imlay City approaches 100 points in impressive victory over Montrose

The Spartans offense has been on a tear.

On Monday night, the Imlay City boys basketball team showed off its potential with a 93-77 victory over Montrose.

Parker Lewis scored a team-high 27 points for the Spartans (1-0, 3-1), while Holden Redd and Will Tolley each added 12 points and Chris Cezik scored 10.

Imlay City scored more than 20 points in three different quarters.

Montrose countered with a game-high 41 points from Monte Missentzis.

“Coach (Jack) Chittle did a nice job getting his guys ready to face our pressure defense,” Imlay City coach Don Gauthier said. “Monte was really good. Our kids responded well, Parker and Holden made some big shots for us tonight.”
