Sheila Grant is a native Detroiter who has always wanted to be a broadcast journalist. She earned an undergraduate degree in Communications – Broadcast Journalism from Wayne State University. Her life experiences and internships at Detroit Public Television and WDIV – Local 4 have given her insight into news, the inner workings of television production and the bustling newsroom. In her time with The City of Detroit’s media department, she worked as a television host and producer, developing new content to keep the city’s residents abreast of current events in and around the city. Additionally, Sheila sits on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), Michigan chapter and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists’ (NABJ) Detroit chapter. She is involved with several non-profit organizations, including Caleb’s Kids Foundation, The M.I.C.H.A.E.L. Organization and Cool Smart, Inc, whose mission is to educate youth and young professionals on the importance of philanthropy and charitable initiatives. She also sits on the board for Entertainment University and is an advisory board member for Entrepreneur & Executive Magazine. Sheila enjoys entertaining friends and family, traveling, and cooking; her favorite dish to make is banana pudding, using a family recipe passed down from her grandmother. Contact Grant at
