Allow Jesus into your heart this year

By Tamara Brandimore

In a time when so much is changing around us, it can be hard to know up from down.

When we hear so many opposing views about what we should do and not do it makes it hard to know the truth.

Going beyond what we can see in our present circumstance, there remains something so true and unchanging.

He is the Alpha and Omega. He is the beginning and the end. He is the unchanging and everlasting God.

He is the way, the truth and the light (John 14:6). His Word — the Bible, is true. Hebrews 4:12 says: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

When the world around us seems to be swirling, in His presence is my safe place. Psalm 18:2 sums it up perfectly when it states: “The Lord is my solid rock, my fortress, my rescuer. My God is my rock. I take refuge in him! He’s my shield, my salvation’s strength, my place of safety.”

If you are feeling adrift in the circumstances of this world, know that there is one calling to you. His name is Jesus.

He was the sinless, perfect lamb of God, that paid the price for sin on the cross. In Romans 10:9 it says: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

It isn’t about good deeds or being good to be saved. It is about accepting Jesus as the Lord of your life. It will change you forever.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Let me encourage you to get connected into a Bible based church. Also, take this opportunity and open up your Bible to the book of John. This is a perfect place for you to get to know Jesus even deeper. He is welcoming you with open arms today!
