Blue Water Healthy Living

“Adopt a Sturgeon is a one-of-a-kind gift!”

So many Adopt A Sturgeon gifts are being purchased this Christmas! Will you be one of them? Each adoption package includes tagging information, the St. Clair River location where it was tagged, and updates on ongoing recaptures. This exclusive program keeps local habitat conservation and education programs going for this threatened Great Lakes legend.

It’s not too late! Purchase your adoption gift at www.scirver.org/adopt-a-sturgeon or email us education@scriver.org. You will receive details of your adoption including a certificate and an adorable plush sturgeon – just in time for the holidays!

Gifts for Wildlife
Looking for a unique project to do with your kids or grandkids during winter break? Why not make some gifts for the wildlife in your back yard? Orange peel ornaments are a great use of those leftover scraps! Friends of the St. Clair River recommends using black oil sunflower seeds as these are most beneficial to our native birds! Most people have made a peanut butter pinecone bird feeder but these birdseed cookies are a great alternative for those with peanut allergies! These also make great classroom activities for holiday parties. Make a simple fruit garland using oranges, cranberries, and apples. Don’t forget to use biodegradable twine!
Please share our Weekly Watershed News with your child’s teacher or youth group so they can sign up to receive this information too
