By Port Huron Elks Lodge 343
The final tally for 2023 is in, with the assistance of Port Huron Elks Lodge 343, Clawson-Troy Elks Lodge 2169, and the Elks National Veterans Service Commission donations, we were able to donate over $600.00, directly to (28) Veterans from the monthly $25.00, (2) free gas gift cards “give-a-way” program. With the assistance of our (5) volunteer “Ride Share” drivers who provided and helped (15) Veterans make it to their appointments in 2023. We already have (2) rides scheduled for 2024, along with the assistance of the St. Clair County Council on Aging, together we provided support, so the Veterans didn’t miss an appointment.
On another note, the ENVSC along with Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 have continued the monthly $25.00, (2) free gas gift cards “give-a-way” program for 2024. The last drawing for 2023 took place on Tuesday, December 30th, as Mrs. Shirley Whiting, spouse of a US Navy Veteran drew two lucky local Veterans. This month’s winning tickets belong to Doug Brown, US Army and Gabe Coronado USMC, congratulations! The Yale Veterans Clinic of McLaren/Port Huron Yale Community Health Center is located at 7470 Brockway Road, Yale, MI. 48097.
