Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” will play in 70mm at Detroit’s Redford Theatre on September 4 and 5, the Motor City Cinema Society announced Monday.

It will be the first time the movie is shown in 70mm — a large film format which allows for as much as three times the resolution of standard digital projection formats — in Michigan.

Tickets for the showings are $15 and are on sale at motorcitycinema.org. Showtimes are at 8 p.m. both days.

“One Battle After Another” stars Leonardo DiCaprio as an ex-revolutionary whose past catches up with him when his daughter (Chase Infiniti) becomes a teenager.

It also stars Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall and Sean Penn, who won an Oscar — his third — for Best Supporting Actor for his role as the menacing Col. Steven J. Lockjaw.

In all, the movie won six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, as well as Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson. It also won for Best Film Editing and Best Casting.

The movie opened in Sept. 2025 and earned $73 million domestically and $213 million worldwide.

It’s not the only Leonardo DiCaprio movie coming to the Redford on film; “Catch Me if You Can” will play at the theater on a 35mm print on Aug. 29. Tickets are on sale now.
