New York Giants legends Harry Carson and Lawrence Taylor were in attendance for Day 1 of the team’s minicamp on Monday. Both Carson and Taylor are widely regarded as two of the greatest players to ever wear a Giants uniform.
The legendary duo could play a role in the mental development of several players this summer, as the Giants enter the 2026 season with one of the youngest and most promising rosters in the entire NFL.
The Giants’ defensive core stands to benefit greatly by learning from Taylor and Carson. Each is considered one of the best linebackers to ever play the game, and Taylor is regarded by many as the greatest overall player in both NCAA and NFL history.
The duo’s presence on the first day of minicamp is a welcome sight for Giants fans and the organization as a whole. New York boasts an elite young core at the linebacker position, and Taylor and Carson will serve as ideal mentors for these rising stars.
“We had a beautiful day. Two of the greatest linebackers ever in the history of the game talking to the guys after practice. That was something. That was special,” head coach John Harbaugh told reporters.
“He was really just giving us the Giants way of how they played back in the day and just trying to give us pointers on how it was back then and what he wants to see and what the city expects. So that’s kind of the importance of what he was saying,” linebacker Brian Burns said.
Taylor and Carson may also attend Days 2 and 3 of minicamp this week, where the legendary Giants duo could impart valuable lessons to the team’s young, star-studded defense.
