Spring All-County: Best of large school girls lacrosse in Palm Beach

The Palm Beach Post’s All-County teams are here!

The Post is proud to announce the Player of the Year nominees for large school girls lacrosse.

Player of the Year winners will be announced at an in-person ceremony. The show is May 28 at the SoFi Center on the Palm Beach Gardens campus of Palm Beach State College. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the awards program at 6:30 p.m.

The show is produced with support from Baptist Health Orthopedic Care.

First Team All-County Large School Girls Lacrosse

A: Sienna Snyder, Sr., Jupiter

Sienna Snyder was among the best large-school attackers in the county, contributing 45 goals for the Warriors. Snyder helped Jupiter to a 12-6 record against a tough schedule as the best large school girls program in Palm Beach County.

A: Jenna Mathews, So., Spanish River 

Jenna Mathews had one of the highest offensive outputs of any lacrosse player in the state, contributing 106 goals and 59 assists for the Sharks. In addition to her 165-point season, the sophomore added 49 ground balls and 39 caused turnovers.

M: Cecilia Renzulli, Jr., Dwyer

Cecilia Renzulli was the driving force behind Dwyer girls lacrosse, tallying a team-high 42 goals while adding 13 assists. The junior midfielder added 43 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers, while leading the Panthers in draw controls.

M: Kali Savage, Jr., Jupiter

Kali Savage was the driving force behind Jupiter girls lacrosse, and when she had the ball, good things tended to happen on offense. The junior tallied a team-high 52 goals this season, guiding the program to a 12-6 record against a tough schedule, by far the strongest large school girls program in Palm Beach County.

M: Brooke Ybarra, So., Park Vista

Brooke Ybarra was Park Vista’s scoring leader this year with 37 goals, adding another 11 assists for a 48-point season. The sophomore added 15 ground balls in helping the Cobras to a 10-5 record and a run into regionals.

M: Molly Keydel, So., Palm Beach Central

Molly Keydel took no prisoners on offense this year, raking up 78 goals to pace Palm Beach Central. Her 10 assists brought her up to 88 points on the year, among the county leaders, and she also paced her team in draw controls won as well as ground balls.

D: Emma Viveros, Sr., Jupiter

Emma Viveros showcased her versatility with Jupiter in her senior year. The defender tallied 57 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers while alo adding 16 goals and 11 assists on offense. In her swan song high school season, Viveros even got to play a quarter in net this year.

D: Ella McCarthy, Sr., Park Vista

Ella McCarthy played all three positions in the field for Park Vista this year, excelling in each. On offense, the senior contributed 33 goals and 18 assists, and she also added 16 ground balls in helping Park Vista to a 10-5 record and a regional appearance.

D: Anabella Sabugo, Sr., Wellington

Anabella Sabugo was active al over the field for Wellington girls lacrosse this year. Despite her experience as a defender, the senior contributed 33 goals and seven assists. In addition to her offense, Sabugo also paced the Wolverines with 82 ground balls and even rotated in on draw control duties.

GK: Madison Thomas, So., Jupiter

Jupiter’s coaching staff didn’t do the team any favors, scheduling a very tough group of opponents. Madison Thomas responded to the challenge, making 76 saves in her sophomore year to help the Warriors, who finished the season as the highest-ranked large school girls lacrosse program in the county.

Coach of the Year

John Aiello, Jupiter

Aiello helped Jupiter finish as the strongest large school girls lacrosse team in Palm beach County this year. With his leadership, they finished at the No. 28 team in the state rankings, taking down Cardinal Newman, King’s Academy, and Viera en route to a 12-6 season. It was the best finish for Jupiter in the last decade.
