Hundreds of students graduating from Monroe County schools this week

High school graduation week in Monroe County has arrived for its public schools. Here’s the information about when and where those commencement ceremonies will take place.

Edgewood High School

Edgewood High School, part of the Richland-Bean Blossom School Corp., will have graduation at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at the school, 601 Edgewood Drive, Ellettsville.

Bloomington Graduation School

Bloomington Graduation School, part of the Monroe County Community School Corp., will have graduation 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Jackson Creek Middle School Auditorium, 3980 S. Sare Road.

Academy of Science & Entrepreneurship

The Academy of Science & Entrepreneurship, also part of MCCSC, will have graduation ceremonies 5-6 p.m. Friday, May 29, in Shreve Hall at Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington, 200 Daniels Way.

Bloomington High School South

Bloomington High School South graduation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, in the purple gym of the high school, 1965 S. Walnut St.

Bloomington High School North

Bloomington High School North graduation will be 2-3 p.m. Saturday, May 30, in the high school’s gym, 3901 N. Kinser Pike.

About 190 students will be graduating from Edgewood High School on Saturday. Fifty-nine graduating seniors are receiving scholarships totaling $1,921,878.

Speaker at the ceremony will be Dirk Ackerman, principal. Valedictorian is Helee Patel. Salutatorian is Jack Simpson.

More about MCCSC graduates

The Class of 2026 for MCCSC schools has 827 graduating students: 350 from Bloomington North, 407 from Bloomington South, 33 from Academy and 37 from Bloomington Graduation School.

A first this year: the MCCSC Online program has its first graduates, 20 students who will be attending the graduation ceremony of their choice. The online program is offered through the Academy of Science & Entrepreneurship, so the numbers from the online program are included in the Academy’s graduate numbers.

In all, MCCSC graduating seniors received about $12,034,200 in scholarships. The majority of graduates — 459 — will graduate with academic or technical honors diplomas. Some graduates have already received college credits, the the Class of 2026 completing more than 1,696 credits, giving them a head start on college.

Also, 208 students from area schools — MCCSC, Bloomfield School District, Eastern Greene Schools MSD of Martinsville, Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corp. and Spencer-Owen Community Schools — earned 234 certifications through the Hoosier Hills Career Center at the end of the 2025-26 school year.
