2027 Texas A&M basketball commit earns NBPA Top 100 Camp invite

Summer break is creeping up for schools across the country, which means social feeds will soon be filled with graduation celebrations and a wave of summer camp announcements. One of the biggest came Saturday, when 2027 point guard and Texas A&M commit Chase Richardson confirmed he has been invited to compete in the NBPA Top 100 Camp, held June 8–11 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Richardson, ranked the No. 5 prospect in Texas and the first commitment of the Bucky McMillan era, continues to validate his status as one of the premier guards in the 2027 class. His invitation to one of the nation’s most prestigious development camps only reinforces the caliber of players headed to Aggieland next year.

Now in its 32nd year, the NBPA Top 100 Camp is widely regarded as the gold standard for on‑court development, leadership training, and mentorship. The event features instruction from current and former NBA players, coaches, and college staff, with this year’s group highlighted by Rajon Rondo, Phil Handy (Dallas Mavericks), and former college head coach Tom Crean.

According to the NBPA, players can expect a comprehensive experience:

“Top 100’s group of coaches will deliver an experience focused on skill development, incorporating situational basketball, pro combine drills, instructional sessions on offensive and defensive concepts, and competitive 5-on-5 games in a showcase format.  In addition to the on-court programming, players at Top 100 attend educational sessions on NIL, mental health & wellness, and financial literacy, equipping them with the skills needed for success beyond the basketball court.”

For McMillan, whose system thrives on pace, vision, and relentless energy, Richardson’s continued rise is another sign that the foundation of the 2027 class is built on the right cornerstone.
