May continues to be a busy month for Michigan football recruiting, as the Wolverines and first-year coach Kyle Whittingham added a four-star tight end to their class of 2027 on Saturday, May 23.
Colt Lumpris, a 6-foot-6, 249-pound TE out of The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, flipped his commitment from Alabama to U-M, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.
Lumpris is the second four-star commitment for the Wolverines in two days, as well as the third this week, following defensive backs Tavares Harrington (Chicago) on Friday night and Darius Johnson on Monday.
The New Jersey native ranks as the No. 6 player in his home state, the No. 16 tight end nationally as well as a the No. 289 player overall, per 247 Sports’ composite rankings.
The addition of Lumpris brings U-M’s class to 15 players for 2027, with the Wolverines ranking 11th nationally, per 247, and fifth in the Big Ten (behind Penn State, UCLA, USC and Ohio State).
