The Boiling Pot brings seafood boils and Bushwackers to West Pensacola

The Boiling Pot is now open at 5190 Mobile Highway with aims to bring some of Pensacola Beach’s best food—including fresh seafood and strong bushwackers—to Pensacola’s west side.

Formerly the 850 Seafood & Grill, the restaurant is now under new ownership with a new concept, offering a variety of menu options including seafood boil bags, po’boys, ceviche, seafood platters and hibachi plates.

General manager John Ozuna has been blown away by what the chefs have been creating, and customers have been falling in love with The Boiling Pot’s menu since it opened in mid-April.

“The chefs got it down,” Ozuna said. “You can’t go wrong.”

Ozuna has been at work making some changes to the restaurant’s interior as well, which still depicts some of the original art from 850 Seafood & Grill. They have, however, have added a variety of shiny new tables and booths to fit with the restaurant’s new seafood theme.

Customers can sit inside the expansive restaurant, at the bar, or inside the restaurant’s breezy screened-in patio to enjoy their lunch or dinner.

Some of The Boiling Pot’s signature dishes include the seasonal crawfish boil and shrimp boil, which come loaded with shrimp, savory sausage, sweet corn, hearty potatoes tossed in a flavorful house sauce, ranging from $21.99 (one pound) to $37.99 (two pounds)

Seafood lovers will have a difficult time choosing from The Boiling Pot’s platters, which include a variety of fried and grilled seafood dishes such as shrimp, basa, catfish, grouper, oysters and more.

They also lean into some regional favorites, including slow-simmered gumbo, po’boys and shrimp with Southern-style grits.

However, even if seafood isn’t your style, you’ll still find plenty of options including their signature smoked wings, chicken hibachi plate or dirty burger topped with slow-cooked carnitas.

They also have a full bar with a variety of signature drinks to match, including electric blue spiked lemonades, coastal peach teas and rich and creamy Bushwackers.

Ozuna hopes that the restaurant will bring more premium dining options to the west side of Pensacola.
