45 boys track and field athletes to watch in SW Indiana in 2026

Spring is here, and the same can be said for track and field season.

Quite a few athletes in the area impressed at the IHSAA state championships last season. Similarly, many starred at the regional.

Nearly a month into the season, here are 45 returning boys track and field athletes to watch out for in Southwestern Indiana. These are listed in no particular order and reference last season’s accomplishments. A separate list was posted about the girls.

Ben Quach, Castle (junior)

Quach finished second in the 200-meter at the regional while also being a part of Castle’s third place 4×100 team. He became a state qualifier in both competitions.  

Dane Kramer, Castle (senior)

Kramer won the 800-meter at the regional while also being a part of Castle’s sixth place 4×400 team. He became a state qualifier in both competitions. 

Micah Robling, Harrison (senior)

Robling finished third in the 400-meter at the regional, becoming a state qualifier.

Tayten Wilson, Harrison (junior)

Wilson finished third in the shot put at the regional, becoming a state qualifier.

Jordan Paul, Boonville (senior)

Paul finished fifth in 110-meter hurdles and fourth in 300-meter hurdles at the regional. He became a state qualifier in the 110-meter.

Bobby Robinson, Gibson Southern (senior)

Robinson finished second in the discus at the regional, becoming a state qualifier.

Karwin Pope, Princeton (senior)

Pope won the 100-meter at the regional while also being a part of Princeton’s fifth place 4×100 relay team. He became a state qualifier in the 100-meter.

Peyton Martin, Heritage Hills (senior)

Martin finished third in the discus and fourth in the shot put at the regional. He qualified for state competition in discus.

De’Amontey Layne, North (senior)

Layne won the 200-meter at the regional while also being a part of North’s first place 4×100 and 4×400 relay team. He competed in the 200-meter and 4×100 relay competitions at state. 

Cole McBride, North (senior)

McBride finished third in the 200-meter at the regional while also being a part of North’s first place 4×100 and 4×400 relay team. He competed in all three competitions at state. 

Darian Walker, North (senior)

Walker won the 110-meter hurdles at the regional, finished sixth in 300-meter hurdles and was a part of North’s first place 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams.

Jacob Randolph, North (junior)

Randolph finished fourth in the 100-meter at the regional while also being a part of North’s first place 4×100 relay team. He competed in the 4×100 at state. 

TJ Michel, North (senior)

Michel finished seventh in the 100-meter at the regional while also being a part of North’s first place 4×100 relay team. He competed in the 4×100 at state. 

Jack Wilbourne, Signature (sophomore)

Wilbourne finished second in the 1600-meter at the regional, becoming a state qualifier.

Colin Johnson, Reitz (junior)

Johnson finished fourth in the 200-meter at the regional.

Sam Theriac, South Knox (senior)

Theriac finished sixth in the 200-meter at the regional.

Dawens Atime, Harrison (junior)

Atime finished seventh in the 200-meter at the regional while also being a part of Harrison’s second place 4×100 relay team. He competed in the 4×100 at state.

Eli Powers, Princeton (junior)

Powers finished fourth in the 400-meter at the regional.

Dade Waters, North (senior)

Waters finished fifth in the 400-meter at the regional while also being a part of North’s first place 4×400 relay team. He competed in the 4×400 at state.

Derek Dean, North (senior)

Dean finished sixth in the 400-meter at the regional. He also competed at state in the 4×400.

Ben Fortwendel, Tell City (junior)

Fortwendel finished ninth in the 400-meter at the regional while also being a part of Tell City’s fourth place 4×400 relay team.

Matthew Dillman, Castle (senior)

Dillman finished tenth in the 400-meter at the regional while also being a part of Castle’s sixth place 4×400 relay team.

Max Moody, Princeton (senior)

Moody finished seventh in the 800-meter at the regional while also being a part of Princeton’s eighth place 4×400 relay team.

Will Dierlam, Reitz (junior)

Dierlam finished fifth in the 1600-meter at the regional.

Aidan Alston, Gibson Southern (junior)

Alston finished sixth in the 1600-meter at the regional.

Austin Carlile, Castle (sophomore)

Carlile finished seventh in the 1600-meter at the regional while also being a part of Castle’s first place 4×800 relay team. He competed in the 4×800 at state.

Peyton Wright, Princeton (senior)

Wright finished ninth in the 1600-meter at the regional.

Andrew Foster, Memorial (junior)

Foster finished tenth in the 1600-meter at the regional while also being a part of Memorial’s second place 4×800 relay team. He competed in the 4×800 at state.

Carter Zieren, Reitz (junior)

Zieren finished second in the 3200-meter at the regional, becoming a state qualifier.

Kyle Woehler, Jasper (senior)

Woehler finished eighth in the 3200-meter at the regional.

Paxton Traylor, Barr-Reeve (junior)

Traylor finished ninth in the 3200-meter at the regional while also being a part of Barr-Reeve’s fifth place 4×800 relay team.

Jack Minor, Evansville Christian (senior)

Minor finished tenth in the 3200-meter at the regional.

Jayden Jones, Bosse (junior)

Jones finished eighth in the 110-meter hurdles at the regional.

Ryley Cowan, Jasper (senior)

Cowan finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles at the regional.

Tyler Musich, North (senior)

Musich finished ninth in the 300-meter hurdles at the regional.

Jace Hafele, Jasper (junior)

Hafele finished tenth in the 300-meter hurdles at the regional.

Brayden Bell, Heritage Hills (senior)

Bell tied for ninth in the high jump at the regional.

Isaiah Bosley, Heritage Hills (senior)

Bosley tied for ninth in the high jump at the regional.

Devin Stewart, Central (senior)

Stewart tied for ninth in the high jump at the regional.

Linkin Delaney, Princeton (junior)

Delaney finished fourth in the pole vault at the regional.

Zachary Betz, Northeast Dubois (senior)

Betz finished fifth in the pole vault at the regional.

Donovan Moore, Reitz (senior)

Moore finished fifth in the long jump at the regional.

Andrew Jones, Memorial (senior)

Jones finished seventh in the shot put at the regional.

Gavin Lukeman, Mater Dei (junior)

Lukeman finished fifth in the discus at the regional.

Davin Pund, Forest Park (senior)

Pund finished seventh in the discus at the regional.

Khale Campbell, Gibson Southern (junior)

Campbell finished ninth in the discus at the regional.
