Gaffer District will fill with Irish spirit for St. Pat's Day events

St. Patrick’s Day events in the Corning Gaffer District begin Saturday, March 7 with the Corning Area Business Alliance St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. at Oak’s Sports Bar, according to Catherine Price, Executive Director of the Corning Gaffer District.

Participating stops include VOLO Bar & Lounge, Liquid Shoes Brewing, Iron Flamingo Barrel House, The Office, and Maley’s Pub.

“While we won’t be dyeing the Chemung River green for St. Patrick’s Day, we still like to honor those with Irish Heritage here in Corning,” Price said. “This heritage-based holiday is a wonderful reason to visit the district and enjoy events from pub crawls and live music to family activities and special menus. There’s something for everyone.”

On Wednesday, March 11, Liquid Shoes Brewing will host Bingo for Baldricks from 7-9 p.m., supporting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and childhood cancer research.

Family-friendly activities continue Friday, March 13, when the Corning Family YMCA will host a St. Patrick’s Day Party & Dance featuring Irish-themed music, crafts, activities, and a prize for the most festive outfit.

The Radisson Hotel Corning will also offer St. Patrick’s Day dining specials, including corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, and themed drink specials, Price said.

On Tuesday, March 17, Liquid Shoes Brewing will host a St. Paddy’s Day Party from 2-9 p.m., featuring green beer, Leprechaun mimosas, beer meatballs, and live music by Doc Possum.
