Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti previews Iowa football, taunts Illinois after blowout

The Indiana Hoosiers are an extremely talented football team, and the Iowa Hawkeyes are more than going to have their work cut out for them this Saturday when they welcome them into Kinnick Stadium.

Not only do they perform on the field, but their head coach is not afraid to be performative with the media. Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti has always been outspoken and unafraid to speak his feelings or get a little cocky. It’s what gives him and his teams an edge.

Heading into the matchup against Iowa, Cignetti managed to compliment Iowa, while also taking a jab at the Illinois Fighting Illini in the same sentence, after the Hoosiers beat Illinois 63-10 last weekend.

“A more difficult challenge than the last one for sure,” Cignetti said when asked about traveling to Iowa to play in the always-hostile Kinnick Stadium.

Curt Cignetti has always unabashedly spoken his mind about everything from Indiana’s controversial nonconference schedule, which features no Power Five opponents, to taking shots at teams the Hoosiers have beaten.

After a College Football Playoff trip in 2024 as the darlings of college football, Indiana has steamrolled their way to a 4-0 start and now gets to take their first road trip of the year to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
