Two people from Florida were killed Friday in a crash involving a dump truck in the Town of LeRoy, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said 20-year-old Brianna R. Welsh was driving a Nissan sedan on Griswold Road with passenger Mallen A. Mello, also 20, when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with West Bergen Road. The vehicle collided with a dump truck.
Both Welsh and Mello, of Apopka, Florida, were pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.
The dump truck driver was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
