Portage County Engineer Larry Jenkins’ office said work could begin as soon as Monday. Portage County commissioners awarded a contract to Matt Winters Excavating LLC of Stow in the amount of $529,083.

The bridge is just west Seasons Road at Judson Road, over the Wheeling & Lake Erie railroad tracks. The contract includes deck replacement and structure rehabilitation, including minimal approach work. The bridge and all roadway work are to be completed in Fall 2025.

The engineer’s office obtained an Ohio Public Works Commission grant, which will offset 50% of the cost.

The county has hired Michael Baker International Inc. to perform the construction contract administration and inspection. Those with questions can contact Mike Collins, project manager at the engineer’s office, at 330-296-6411.
