A Putnam County manufacturing company is reducing its workforce.
Mennie Machine Company announced plans to cut 17 employees from its facility in the village of Mark, according to a filing under the Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
The first planned layoff date was July 31, and layoff plans were reported to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity on Aug. 5.
Founded in 1970, Mennie Machine Company provides production, prototype and design parts for industrial equipment. The company is just one of the most recent to announce layoffs in Illinois.
Mennie Machine Company did not immediately respond to phone calls and an email from the Journal Star.
