Parks sent a letter to Hamilton County Commission President Denise Driehaus on Aug. 12, resigning her position on the Hamilton County Veterans Services Commission.

“I write to inform you that I am resigning from the Hamilton County Veterans Services Commission effective immediately,” Parks said in the letter. “I appreciate your appointment and am proud of the work the commission has accomplished to improve services and supports to our veterans.”

The Enquirer reached out to Parks to ask why she decided to resign but did not receive a response prior to publication.

‘They begged for that beat down!’

Videos of a July 26 fight in downtown Cincinnati went viral thanks to right-wing influencers and commentators, including former Trump administration adviser Elon Musk.

Parks commented on one of the videos the day after the fight and said “They begged for that beat down! I am grateful for the whole story.”

Her comments also got the attention of right-wing accounts on X, including Libs of TikTok, which is run by influencer Chaya Raichik. A USA Today investigation found that Raichik’s posts are at times followed by death threats, bomb threats and harrasment for those she criticizes.

How to apply for Hamilton County Veterans Services Commission

The eight-member Veterans Services Commission now has two vacancies, after former executive director Orlando Sonza was appointed as counsel for the civil rights division for the U.S. Department of Justice by President Donald Trump. Commission member Glenn Welling is serving as interim executive director.

Anyone interested in serving on the commission can apply through the Hamilton County website.
