VOTE: Who is Central Wisconsin's track and field Athlete of the Year?

Who was Central Wisconsin’s most elite track and field athlete this season? You can be the judge here.

Athletes around the area capped off their productive seasons with medals and record-breaking performances at the 2025 WIAA state meet. But only one can be recognized at the top.

Here is a list of the area’s most elite track and field athletes this season; choose your best athlete before the poll closes at noon, Tuesday, July 1.

Maci Heise, Wausau West

Heise won gold (42.79) in the 300m hurdles and a fourth place (12.18) medal in the 100m dash at the 2025 WIAA state track and field championships.

Ethan Knecht, Marshfield

Knect placed sixth (169-0) in the discus throw and finished in fifth place (55-7 1/2) in the shot put event at the WIAA state meet. 

Xavier Edwards, D.C. Everest

Edwards won a silver medal (47-2) in Division 1’s triple jump event at the 2025 state track championships.

Cheyenne Cornell, Stevens Point

 Cornell earned a sixth-place finish (11-6) in the pole vault event at the state track and field championships. 

Ethan Olds, Stevens Point

Olds placed fifth (4:08.15) in the 1,600 and fifth in the 3,200 (9:09.85) at the state track and field championships..

Molly Johnson, Adams-Friendship

 Johnson earned a fifth-place medal (57.30) in Division 2’s 400-meter dash at the 2025 WIAA state meet.

Rivalee Stokes, Medford

Stokes earned a sixth place (129-10) finish in the discus throw at the 2025 WIAA state championship .

Daelyn Rieck, Colby

Rieck won gold (133-4) in Division 3’s discus throw and earned a silver medal (41-2 3/4) in the shot put event.

Kyle Schreiner, Athens

Schreiner won gold (14-3.) in the pole vault event at the 2025 state meet.

Sy’Rih Hartwig, Athens

Hartwig earned a bronze medal (40-11 1/4) in the shot put event and a sixth-place medal (125-4) in the discus throw. 

Chris Marcell, Marathon

 Marcell broke numerous records throughout the season culminating in winning gold (211-4) in the shotput and discus events at the 2025 state meet.

Ben Beck, Iola-Scandinavia

Beck won gold (9:28.02) in the 3,200 and also earned a fourth-place medal 4:18.89 in the 1,600 dash at the 2025 state track and field championships. 

Korz Loken, Iola-Scandinavia

 Loken earned a bronze medal (162-5) in the discus throw at the state meet.

Garrett Bracewell, Marathon

Bracewell earned a silver medal (14.73) in the 110-meter hurdles and was a part of the relay team consisting of Fred Tylinski, Annis, and Krautkramer which placed sixth in the 4×200 relay at the 2025 state track championships. 

Luke Eiden, Pacelli 

Eiden earned a bronze medal (4:18.52) in the 1,600 dash at the 2025 WIAA state meet.

Trevor Trowbridge, Auburndale 

 Trowbridge placed sixth (39.89) in the 300 hurdles event at the 2025 state track and field championships.

Christian Fuentes, Abbotsford 

 Fuentes earned a silver medal (21-7 1/4) in the long jump event at the 2025 state meet.

Malaina Telschow, Athens 

 Telschow claimed a silver medal (11-6) in the pole vault event at the 2025 state meet.

Breckin Miller, Spencer 

Miller earned a bronze medal (13-6) in the pole vault event at the state meet..

Carter Cihlar, Abbotsford’s 

Cihlar earned a fifth-place medal (13-0) in the pole vault event at the 2025 WIAA state meet.

Evie Bates, Newman Catholic

Bates earned a silver medal (5-4) in the high jump event at the state meet.

Alex Wierzba, Rosholt 

Wierzba earned a silver medal (48.65) in the 400-meter dash and also a silver medal in the 200-meter dash (21.96). 

Nolyn Lindner, Newman Catholic

Lindner earned a bronze medal (48.89) in the 400-meter dash.

Reese Grimm, Pittsville

Grimm earned a fourth place (58.34) finish in the 400-meter dash and a fifth place (2:17.54) finish in the 800-meter dash. 

Tucker Streit, Edgar

Streit won two bronze medals at the WIAA state track and field championships, first in the 110 hurdles (14.80) and also in the 300 hurdles (39.09). 

Bella Thomas, Assumption

Thomas dominated the state meet, earning two two gold medals,  in the 100-meter dash (12.18), which was her second-consecutive, and also captured her third consecutive state championship in the 200-meter dash (24.45). 

Lucy Dolan, Assumption

Dolan earned two medals at the WIAA state meet, a fourth-place medal (4.57.20) in the 1,600 race and a fifth-place medal in the 3,200 (10.48.30).

Addysen Wolf, Loyal

Wolf earned two medals at the 2025 WIAA state meet, a fifth-place medal (12.47) in the 100 dash and a sixth-place medal in the 200m dash (25.60).

Jett Schoenherr, Stratford

Schoenherr earned a bronze medal (11.17) in the 100 dashes at the WIAA state meet. He was also part of the team that consisted of Carter Foster, Zander Zawislan, and Coltan Breit, which earned a fifth-place medal in the 4×100 meter relay (43.48).

Connor Kreft, Stratford 

Kreft earned a fourth-place medal (43-9 1/2) in the triple jump event at the 2025 state track and field championships.
