You decide: Vote for the Gainesville-area HS sports Athlete of the Week for March 21-31

It’s time for everyone’s favorite part of the week: The Gainesville Sun Athlete of the Week Poll.

Here are the best of the bunch from high school sports events held March 21-31.

The poll will be open until 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Please share this poll with friends and family.

Aubrey Bertrand, Williston softball

Six RBIs in the Red Devils’ games vs. Columbia, Dunnellon, Bronson and GHS, as well as a complete game over Bronson.

Brandon Weber, Santa Fe baseball

Five RBIs in the Raiders’ three wins this week over West Port, GHS and Osceola.

Brock Petrello, Trenton baseball

Seven RBIs and two home runs in the Tigers’ five wins this week.

Gavin Jones, Oak Hall baseball

Hit for the cycle for the Eagles in their 18-12 win over Hawthorne Thursday (five RBIs).

Isabella Alexander, Buchholz flag football

21-for-26 for 227 yards and four touchdowns in the Bobcats’ 39-0 win over Newberry.

Jackson Philman, Bell baseball

“As a freshman playing his second year on varsity baseball has earned the No. 1 spot as a freshman in the state of Florida for 0.00 ERA for pitching and No. 2 overall in Florida for his ERA. He currently has a .317 batting average.” – Lisa Philman

J’Lyn Guyden, Santa Fe softball

“5-8 on the week, 0.625 batting average, five runs, eight RBIs, one double, one triple, one home run.” – Coach Gene Findley

Hannah Lebleu, Fort White softball

Ten RBIs and five shutout innings in the wins over Hamilton County, Trenton and Chiefland.

Lula McCullors, Newberry girls lacrosse

“Lula recorded nine goals over the course of three games this week and has been a key player in transitions. She is able to keep calm and positive no matter the team we play!” – Coach Heather Roark

McKenna O’Sullivan, Gainesville High softball

Seven RBIs (11 for the week), two home runs and seven hits in the wins over Forest, Suwannee and Williston. Also allowed just four runs in 19 innings.

Nichelle Brown, Bradford flag football

Fifteen catches for 320 yards and five touchdowns, along with 80 yards rushing and a touchdown, in the Tornadoes’ two wins over Baker County and Keystone Heights.

Ranilah Smith, Santa Fe flag football

Eight catches for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders’ 18-14 win over Buchholz.

Reymar Basol, Newberry boys lacrosse

Six goals in the Panthers’ 14-4 win over Eastside Thursday.

Roen Kresak, Buchholz baseball

Four RBIs (two vs. Bartram Trail, two vs. Osceola) in the Bobcats’ three wins this week.

Sara Davis, Buchholz girls lacrosse

Three goals and two assists (five points) in the Bobcats’ 11-4 win over GHS.

Victoria Swain, Branford softball

Nine RBIs and a home run in the Buccaneers’ wins over Chiefland, Dixie County, Calvary Christian, Chiefland and Lafayette.
