Port Huron Old Newsboys raises money to help children in need
By The Port Huron Old Newsboys
Port Huron, MI – Port Huron Old Newsboys spreads its wings with a new campaign to help kids in need. The Michigan based 501c3 nonprofit, Port Huron Old Newsboys looks to find new ways of raising money from the previous method of giving newspapers for donations.
The spirit of the 60 dollars 60 days campaign is to create awareness and buzz with $1 per day for sixty days provides essential items for those in need during the winter months. Everyday children experience the unfortunate realities of life of not having appropriate warmth when it’s cold and we know how we can help says Executive Director Mary Meadows. Clothing is something most of us take for granted until we don’t have it. Our tradition of giving shoes, boots, socks, and underwear have a new advantage to it with the inclusion of being able to purchase winter coat apparel this year.
This small contribution has a big impact on our community says a neighbor Patrick Patterson. When we focus on others, we gain a positive perspective on life. Mary Meadows loves that this solves a problem and helps the parents meet the need of their children. Every year Port Huron Old Newboys helps 1000 children in St Clair County with these items during Christmas.
