The Michigan Republican Party is pleased to announce that special guest Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States, will keynote the 33rd Biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference at the historic Mackinac Island Grand Hotel on September 20th-22nd.
From the beginning of the Trump/Pence administration, Michigan has experienced a renaissance in its manufacturing economy, with nearly $8 billion in new automotive investment in this year alone. The administration also took the lead on numerous issues of paramount importance to our state such as the Soo Locks expansion, and over $300 million for Great Lakes Restoration.
Prior to serving as the 48th Vice President of the United States, Pence was the Governor of Indiana from 2013 to 2017 where he made remarkable improvements on education and infrastructure. Pence increased school funding while expanding school choice, and invested more than $800 million in new funding for roads and bridges across the state. Pence accomplished this all while keeping the state budget balanced and was even able to pass record tax cuts and keep the state’s AAA credit rating. Additionally, as a member of Congress from 2001-2012, Pence became known as a champion for principled, conservative leadership and commonsense solutions in policymaking.
