Attention: Teachers, Parents, and Students!
Knowlton’s Ice Museum of North America would like to invite all area schools to schedule your field trips with us beginning NOW!
“Our museum is all about ice harvesting history locally-here in Port Huron- dating back to the mid 1800’s.” Vicki Smith
The children today have no idea how food was kept fresh, especially during our summer months or the work it took to do so. We have a 12 – 14 minute video that really describes how this was accomplished. We also have some hands-on exhibits for the older children to get a “feel” for the old days.
Please make plans to come share our one-two hour tour with your classroom or home school group. We are centrally located in the downtown Port Huron area, close to the Sperry Moviehouse and St. Clair County Library.
School-aged visitors are priced at $2.00 each with chaperones at $4.00 each. Groups of at least 6-8 preferred. Call (810) 987-5441 and leave a message with your name and contact info for us to schedule. Knowlton’s Ice Museum would love to share our knowledge with your children and do our best to accommodate your available times.
I have been the manager of Knowlton’s Ice Museum for almost three years. I have lived in Port Huron all of my life and grew up with the Knowlton family. I have two adult children and two grandchildren. I belong to an antique tractor club in Croswell, MI where I’ve shown my 1949 8n Ford tractor in local parades. I love visiting the St. Clair river with my little dog and a good book for the afternoon. Quilting is a passion when I have them time. I truly enjoy sharing the ice harvesting history in our area; it brings back memories for so many people.
