The Poet’s Corner: Who Are You?

By Guest Author, John Yurgens

WHO ARE YOU?

embarrassing to encounter you, today

You seem to know me.

Yet I haven’t a clue who you are.

Waiting for a word or comment

to guide me

To the answer seek.

Who are you?

Fumbling through the card catalog of my memory

I realize the data is corrupt.

Who are you?

Where do I know you from?

When do I know you from?

Are you from my earlier life?

Did we meet since my stroke?

Please forgive me

We had an encounter

Significant enough

You recalled me.

Our encounter was not insignificant at all

I recognize you

I simply lost your name

And details of our encounter

All lost

Within my broken brain.

Who are you?
