Spirit Rising in 2018 —

By Contributing Writer, Rev. Julie Montague

As each year comes to an end, we have an opportunity to heal and complete the past, and align with Spirit to bring forth the highest growth and evolution in the new year. Beginning the first week of December, we have joined together weekly to focus on preparing for this great transformation in our lives. Advent starts with a focus on Faith, followed by peace, love, and joy through the four weeks of preparation for the Christ to be reborn in us on Christmas Day.

In the last week of the year, we work on releasing the old no longer needed things in our life. We also spend time in forgiving anyone and everyone who we feel have hurt us, and ask forgiveness from anyone we have in any way diminished or treated as less than a perfect child of God. We create an intention to love unconditional everyone we have contact with, all experiences, and circumstances, that come into our life in the next year.

We celebrate these important events with a burning bowl service the last week of the year, where we write down limiting beliefs about ourselves, any fears, or resentments we carry and burn them up in the purification of fire.

The first week of the New Year we share a White Stone Sunday Meditation, and write on a white stone a new theme or gift of Spirit to focus on in the New Year. Through Meditation we ask Spirit to Rise Up in us and give us direction for the coming year. There is a Divine plan for each of us and through this process we learn and grow into our very best self. Each year we become more and more spiritually mature.

This beautiful process brings us to new heights of Faith, Peace, Love and Joy each year. We are honoring and blessing the change in seasons that reflects the change in each of us.
With each new year and each season within the year, we stop and celebrate the earth changes within and without we understand that we are connected to all that is, and in that connection every choice affects the whole. Living from this Truth helps us make good choices for the entire Universe. Trust the Plan.
