Lake Huron Medical Center has named Jay E. de los Reyes as the new Chief Executive Officer. Upon accepting the position, de los Reyes had this to say: ‘”It is an honor and a privilege for me to lead a hospital that has served the community so well for more than 60 years. I look forward to working with physicians, nurses, employees, leadership and the executive team at Lake Huron Medical Center to ensure the best care for the patients we serve.”‘
Jay de los Reyes earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Birmingham Southern College and both Master’s Degrees in Business Administration and in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He comes to Port Huron with over 10 years of administrative healthcare experience. Currently he is serving as the Interim Chief Executive for Memorial Hospital of Salem County, in Salem, New Jersey. Prior to this he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Indiana. He’s a member of the Healthcare Committee for Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Outreach Committee for the United Way, along with serving as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Former CEO, Rebekah Smith who reported she would retire in the spring of 2017, has been noted for her leadership roles throughout the Blue Water Area.
Rebekah was appointed president and CEO of St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron in 2012. She was recognized in 2016 as both Blue Water Woman Healthcare Executive of the Year and St. Clair Community College Alumna of the Year.
Currently, Chris Fulks, Chief Financial Officer, is serving as Interim CEO until which time de los Reyes joins the team in June.

His past leadership abilities and his noted commitment to maintain the dynamic healthcare we’re accustomed to with Lake Huron Medical Center, should be a wonderful addition to the area.
