By John Yurgens
After surviving an intracranial hemorrhagic stroke (a brain bleed) and months of rehab, I attempted to return to work; I failed. If you are a regular reader of Blue Water Healthy Living, you may have read my mini-bio previously.
After my failed attempt to return to work, I wallowed in self-pity for several months. After, I turned back to my love of writing. I have written poetry for over 40 years. In fact last week I discovered a poem I had written in 1973. Much like many writers, I dreamed of publishing my poetry, yet delayed any pursuit. Recently, with the guidance of a new friend and fellow writer ( Thank you Mr. Bill Miskell), along with a lot of hard work and determination, (okay, stubbornness), I now have a book available on Amazon. It is a collection of many poems written about my journey, so far. It is entitled: Survival: Life After a Stroke. Poems of my Journey. Check out the link here.
I hope you’ll enjoy the book. Also, keep an eye out for more – I’m already working on a second book.
If you wish to meet and discuss my journey or your own or perhaps that of a family member or friend, please reach out to me, via email.
Fair warning. I love to talk.
