Michael L. Mills is a current resident of the City of Port Huron. The Mills moved to Fort Gratiot to complete the development and initial management of the Blue Water Lodge, an independent living, high immenities Senior Housing facility, the first of its kind in St. Clair County. After bringing that facility to capacity and having it sold, Mike went on to serve seniors as Director of the Harrington Inn where he oversaw the renovation of the exterior of this historic building as an Assisted Living Facility with 76 units and 78 residents. While in this capacity Mills’ produced and Directed the award winning “Visions for the Future” on TV 6 Cable for the St. Clair Council on Aging.
Prior to moving to the Blue Water area Mills spent 10 years as Executive Vice President the Michigan State Chamber of Commerce Foundation overseeing State Wide Leadership training and Economic Education. There he created the Michigan Privatization Council where he served as President for five years.
The previous 26 years of his career were spent in marketing & public relations in Intercollegiate Athletics at Hillsdale College (his alma mater), started Saginaw Valley State University’s athletic program with his mentor Muddy Waters, Assistant Athletic Director at Colorado State University where he served as Media Chair of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. It is in these capacities that he also doubled as producer, director and broadcaster for football and basketball.
He and his wife Marsha spend their spare time restoring and decorating old homes.
